ACF Chefs celebrate child nutrition day

ACF Tampa Bay Chapter Childhood Nutrition Day 2020.  This day (on or around Oct. 16) we focus on creating events that bring community focus on the importance of proper nutrition for America's children and promote the ACF Chef who works everyday to solve problems of childhood hunger and malnutrition.  On Oct. 12 Chef Vince Blancato directed the 3rd Grade students at Gulfside Elementary School, Holiday FL, in harvesting radishes in the 3rd Vegetable Garden that this Chapter sponsors.   After the harvest the students sampled a variety of raw vegetables that they are growing in their garden but are not ready for harvesting.  The nutritional benefits of the items they were eating was discussed.  This Garden helps bring a positive change in students' attitudes towards fresh fruits and vegetables.
